A Costa Rica Beach Wedding to Remember: Villa Punto de Vista
I met Rony fifteen years ago when I first got to Costa Rica. He was one of my closest friends here, and there was a point where he lived in the house right in front of mine, so we ended up hanging out all the time.
But then my second year here Rony moved to Boulder, Colorado and has been living there ever since. So it was such a joy to be the photographer for his wedding here in Costa Rica. It was so ironic, that Rony is from a really small town in the foothills in Costa Rica, but his wedding here turned out to be a destination wedding.
He met his awesome wife Sara in Boulder. As it happens she had lived in Manuel Antonio for a time as well, during the years that Rony was already in Colorado.
It was really special for everyone to be back here in Manuel Antonio, friends from the States, and also with Rony’s family. This Costa Rica beach wedding day was full of really touching moments seeing Rony spending time with his friends and family who haven’t seen him for many years.
The Villa
Sara and Rony decided to have the wedding at the gorgeous Villa Punto de Vista, here in Manuel Antonio. It was such a great idea, as they could all be in the same Villa spending time together a few days before the wedding.
I arrived early to get some photos of Sara and Rony getting ready. Then we headed down to the beach for the ceremony.
Sara had planned on doing a “First Look” with her father before the ceremony. The look on his face when he saw his daughter in her wedding dress really was priceless. Moments after that, Rony saw Sara for the first time that day, and he equally started to tear up.
After the ceremony, we had some time on the beach for some family photos and a portrait session with Sara and Rony. They asked if we could get some photos on an overhanging tree, and although I was hesitant at first because it was a bit high, we had enough people underneath as spotters while they were climbing up and down.
I am glad we made it work because they turned out to be some of my favorite photos from the day. As the sun set behind the rocks we walked up the beach to the Villa and enjoyed the last colors of the day.
Can you see yourself having a Costa Rica beach wedding here? Maybe you’d like to check out more photos to be sure. Feel free to hop on over to this post to see another wedding I photographed at this awesome villa.
