Jaco Beach Photographer Engagement Session at Hotel Club del Mar

Last month I photographed an engagement session for Josiah and Katie on Jaco beach right in front of their hotel Hotel club del Mar. I love this southern part of the beach in Jaco.  It is more laid back than the main strip, and hence less people.  Moreover, the Mountain View that rises up from the southern end makes a great backdrop for photos.

We started the engagement session at eight in the morning, as we were deep in the rainy season, and it had been raining in the afternoons on the days leading up to the session.  Josiah and Katie were wide-awake and chipper though, and instinctively knew how to focus just on each other for the photo session.  They plan on getting married next year in the States and wanted to have their engagement session to remember their special time in Costa Rica. Not only do they look great together, they would also easily fall into tender moments, which made my job easier that much easier.  I just had to set them up doing an activity and then just hang back and shoot.  A great couple + with a beautiful morning + on a gorgeous beach, made for the perfect combination for an engagement shoot.
