Its been an awesome year with some amazing couples. In these past twelve months its been such an honor to document some of the most important and happiest moments in the lives of these adventurous wedding couples. It has also been a pleasure to travel all around Costa Rica from Tamarindo up north, to the waterfalls of the Central Pacific, to the remote Osa Peninsula down south, and of course stay local in my favorite place – Manuel Antonio! To celebrate the year I put together a two minute slideshow with my favorite 100 photos. Enjoy!
My favorite personal work from 2018
After making the slideshow of my favorite wedding photos of the year, I thought it would be nice to share some of my personal work as well. Of course the big event in my life this year was the birth of my precious daughter, Alina! So a lot of these personal photos from this year are going to be of my family and my little warrior princess. They start when she was just a little frijolito in Maria’s belly!
I was in Antigua Guatemala shooting a wedding with the great Joseph Nance. While we were there, Maria, Alina and I got the chance to sneak off to some of the ruins for a maternity session.
The ruins in Antigua were an incredible place to shoot.
This photo from the beach is the day before she was born in Quepos hospital, which makes her my little tica-gringa.
Maria was pretty worn out.Celebrating one month!
Our family also got to attend a wedding as guests for once.
The following photos are when I am out and about in the world with my camera. As always I make it a point to shoot the Independence Day parades in my town.
Playitas beach.
My family came to visit for a reunion so we got to spend an incredible week together.
Some of my nephews and niece in a natural hot spring. My brother and my nephew’s feet.I took my nephews and nieces out in the foothills to ride horses. My parents at Arenas del Mar beach. My parents dancing.
This year my brother also started a Ukulele business. So a personal project of mine is to carry around some ukuleles when I am out and about and try to get some interesting shots as I do a little bit of Ukulele outreach. I nice benefit of this is I am learning how to play as well!
We had a little meltdown on the first day.
Bati has the best porch in Quepos. This man is a legend tree cutter in my town.No shoes and a rope tied around his waist.
And as always, I like to go down to the skate park and get some photos.
Wipeout!Sunset in Quepos. These kids have the life.
