Independence Celebrations in Quepos and Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
Every year I like to go down to the parades in town here and take photos of the Independence Day Celebrations in Costa Rica. As everyone works so hard to pull off the festivities for the big day, I like to document the event and give away the photos of the kids to all the proud parents. It is my favorite holiday around here for sure. All the kids get dressed up in traditional outfits and parade down the streets and celebrate the awesome country they live in. This includes calling attention to the hardworking fisherman and farmers as well appreciating the huge efforts the country has taken to preserve the natural wildlife and fauna. Marching bands are also a big draw as as all the local schools try to put their best foot forward and have the best dressed, best sounding band of the year.
