Lyndsey and Jason

A bride and groom walk hand in hand on a sandy beach. The bride wears a flowing white dress, and the groom is in a white shirt and beige pants. They are smiling at each other with a clear blue sky and distant hills in the background.
Symbolic wedding. Groom in a white shirt walks along a sandy beach towards bride in a dress. The sky is clear with wispy clouds, and trees frame the scene. The ocean is visible in the background.

When Lindsey and Jason contacted me about their symbolic micro-wedding in Costa Rica, they were planning to stay at an Airbnb in Tamarindo. I recommended nearby Playa Langosta for their ceremony – it’s a quieter beach that’s perfect for intimate weddings, especially in the early morning hours. I knew if we got there early enough we could have the beach to ourselves.

We met at Playa Langosta just after sunrise. The beach was empty, giving them the privacy they wanted for their ceremony. They exchanged personal vows with their feet in the sand and the sound of waves in the background.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the quiet morning for portraits. We captured shots along the shoreline and then moved to the tree-lined area of the beach, where the morning light filtered through the branches perfectly.

Lindsey and Jason’s wedding reminded me why I love photographing small ceremonies like this. No fuss, no complicated timeline – just two people celebrating their love in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful spots.
