Healing Uvita, Costa Rica Wedding
Weddings are about two people becoming a new family because they love one another. So what better occasion than a wedding to heal old fractures in the family?
That’s what happened for Bill when he married his love, Diana. He got the chance to mend ties with his family while creating a new family with his bride.
Check out how it all went down in this gorgeous Uvita, Costa Rica wedding.
A Ceremony Wreathed in Flowers
Here in Costa Rica, it’s typical to see arbors swathed in tropical flowers framing the couple as they say their vows. But Bill and Diana’s floral decorations were absolutely stunning!
A four-post canopy with all four legs swathed in greenery and beautiful big-bloomed arrangements was the frame. Inside the frame, a small table was laden with vases of flowers, candles, and other adornments.
The sweet scent of these beauties floated on the fresh sea air as the happy couple and their guests gathered for the ceremony.
Why an Uvita, Costa Rica Wedding?
The happy couple held their festivities at a private villa in a small town about an hour south of the more popular tourist destination, Manuel Antonio.
With only about 3,000 residents, Uvita, Costa Rica isn’t a large town, by any means. But it is a great place to have a laid-back wedding surrounded by the glories of nature. And by choosing a private villa, Bill and Diana got to enjoy luxury amenities as well!
The area’s biggest claim to fame is the stunning Whale’s Tale Beach located inside the Parque Nacional Marino Ballena. Though small, the town boasts a thriving international community and visitors can find everything from quaint French cafés to authentic Argentinan empanadas.
In the surrounding rainforest, guests can find a variety of eco-lodges, villas, and tropical hotels to suit any budget. They all have one thing in common, though, visitors get a front-row seat to the exotic splendor that is the Costa Rican rainforest.
For Bill and Diana, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Let’s take a peek at how amazing it was!
Healing Old Hurts
Bill hadn’t spoken to his brothers in 7 years. He decided to invite them to his wedding, though he had no idea how things would go down.
It turned out to be an epic idea. Everybody had a fabulous time, and the door was finally thrown open to rebuilding their relationships.
For her part, Diana, who is originally from Colombia, has a large family and a lot of them came to celebrate with the happy couple. As you’ll see in a moment, everything turned into a huge dance party at the end!
A Dance Party for the Ages
For the reception, Bill and Diana made the fantastic decision to hire a local band Consomé. These guys had everybody on their feet and having fun!
The singer even came out and sang with the crowd, raising the energy and drawing everyone into a good time. The music they played was all upbeat tropical music like merengue and salsa and toes were tapping for the whole evening!
A Day After Sunset Session
Many of my wedding couples opt for a Day After photo session. This allows them to enjoy the party and spend the bulk of their time on the big day with their guests. Then, the next day I come back to do bridal portraits with the couple.
They’re more relaxed after all the wedding jitters have gone away, and we get some gorgeous images to showcase their love.
Bill and Diana chose a sunset Day After session. So I came back the next afternoon to visit the Roca Verde beach in Dominical. After walking over a little wooden bridge, we came to the main part of the beach where the couple shined.
