Whitney and Aaron’s Engagement Proposal at Playa Prieta

Aaron had contacted me a couple of months ago asking about beaches I recommend for his engagement proposal. I told him I totally recommend Playa Prieta, if he had his own transportation. So we started planning how the moment would be for a sunset engagement proposal. Aaron told his girlfriend that he had made a reservation at the amazing restaurant Casa Chameleon which is right next door, and she should dress up.

Why Playa Prieta is one of my favorite beaches.

I love Playa Prieta because it is this great little cove that is just beautiful. It has kind of a steep entrance, and a dirt road with some holes, so not many people end up coming to this beach. This is what makes it perfect for portrait sessions too, there are hardly any people there. There is also a nice variety as you have the nice sand and ocean, but also a lot of greenery that comes right up to the ocean.

The Proposal Session

Aaron suggested to Whitney that they should take a walk on the beach to watch the sunset before dinner. Aaron and I had already picked a designated spot on the beach for him to propose. As the tide was so high that day, there wasn’t a lot of beach, so it turns out I was very close for the proposal which is makes Whitney’s reaction so much more intense in the photograph.

After the proposal, we walked on the beach and captured more moments, ending the session with the sunset.
