Kaleb and Danny

Are you wondering how to show off your hard earned body art at your wedding? Take a cue from Kaleb, this tattooed bride who pulled it off quite well! Curious to see how she did it and also gave her wedding a modern and unique vibe? Check out the photos below!

How It All Began
Back in 2012, Kaleb and Danny both lived in the Pacific Northwest in the great state of Washington. However, one lived in Seattle and the other lived in Spokane, a difference of about five hours by car — and that’s if the pass is clear through the mountains.
A mutual friend with an impeccable eye for matchmaking told them they were soulmates and encouraged them to meet. She was right, Kaleb and Danny didn’t even last one week doing the whole long-distance relationship thing.

Coming to Costa Rica
How did they end up in Costa Rica? They knew they wanted to have a destination wedding, but the popular Caribbean, Hawaii, and Mexico destinations are a little overdone for their taste. For the location they had three requirements:
- A beautiful location
- Eco-friendly
- Plenty of activities and fun things to do
Costa Rica definitely checks all those boxes. Plus, it is something a little different than what everybody else is doing!
They got in touch with an amazing wedding planner, Maria Roldan, from Lat 10° Weddings and Events. As you can see from the photos, she did a fantastic job making their dreams a reality and helping them create the unique vibe they were going for.
Moreover, to change things up, they shelved some traditions like the bouquet toss in favor of an all-girls dance time instead.
Lastly, they decide to have their wedding at Casa de Luz in Playa Langosta, a stunning location on the beach. Weddings at Playa Langosta are spectacular because the whole event can be outside.

A Photojournalistic Photo Style
Totally in line with their interest in the unconventional, one of the first things they said to me was how much they loved my photojournalistic style. Posed wedding photos just weren’t what they were looking for. Instead, they wanted to showcase/document the day to preserve it for eternity!
To take some of the pressure off the big day itself, we also did a Trash the Dress Session, also called a Day After Session the following morning down on Langosta Beach.

To the Tattoos!
I promised we were going to talk about the bride’s tattoos, so here we go. The bride had some pretty amazing tattoo artwork spreading across her back and arms. She chose a dress with a low back that showed off the elaborate tree she had tattooed across most of her upper back. Of course, her arms were bare, showing off the various designs she had decorating her upper arms.
The whole effect was stunning, and this tattooed bride really rocked her edgy look for her wedding!
Her mom and a few others in attendance also had some colorful tattoo sleeves, which made for a great photo of the dress getting zipped up. Just take a look at the photos, the colorful tattoos complement their outfits nicely and these ladies look amazing!
So, if you got some body art you are proud of, show it off at your wedding! Every bride should stay true to her vision of how she should look for her wedding day and no one else’s.

Kaleb and Danny got a 12 inch Wooden Wedding Album to constantly relive their day and to show off to friends and loved ones who could not attend in person. Check out the video below.
