Cinnamon and Adam

Adam had gotten in touch with me about photographing his engagement proposal to his girlfriend Cinnamon in Costa Rica. He wanted to make it very special by proposing on a out of the way, intimate beach.

As they were staying at The Westin at Playa Conchal, I knew the next beach over you needed would be the perfect place. This beach is called Puerto Viejo, not to be confused with the town on the Caribbean side. This is the Puerto Viejo beach in Guanacaste, between Playa Conchal and Playa Grande. It is a bumpy dirt road to get there, but it is totally worth the trip.

There are always way less people here. You may see a couple families, but other than that it is people fishing or people walking their dog.

Also the waves are very calm here, so a great place to spend the day.

After the proposal we were able to take a walk on the beach and get some great portraits of them together, now that they were glowing from the proposal. He had arranged for a catered picnic for breakfast. This was a huge surprise as there aren’t many facilities on the beach, so to have a catered picnic was the perfect way to enjoy the morning on the beach.

Adam had one more surprise planned for Cinnamon. He had planned for a catered picnic right on the beach at Puerto Viejo. As this is kind of a remote beach, this was a great way for them to spend the morning and have brunch and champagne to celebrate this huge event in their lives.
