Fundacion Sonrisas y Esperanzas | Local non profit organization in Manuel Antonio to help families in need

I love living in Manuel Antonio, and always jump at the chance to participate in community projects here and donate my photography services. Last month I shot two events for the organization Fundacion Sonrisas y Esperanzas. This is an excellent organization here that has the mission to help local families in need. This includes everything from rounding up clothing and food for families after floods and other emergencies, to supporting an orphanage in the mountains of Costa Rica. One way they raise money is by hosting events, like the BMX and skateboard competition for the kids here in the area. This is a great event that also fosters the sporting community to give the youth here alternatives to drug experimentation and crime. Later in the month, Fundacion Sonrisas y Esperanzas also hosted an Extreme running race here in Manuel Antonio. The route was from the marina in Quepos, to the public beach in Manuel Antonio all along the coastline. The route consisted of steep jungle terrain and lots of mud. It was a huge success and people are already signing up for next year.
