Destination Wedding in Manuel Antonio at Costa Verde Hotel
Destination beach weddings at Hotel Costa Verde are some of my favorite to shoot. So I was delighted to shoot Jesus and Mariana’s wedding at Costa Verde in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. The couple’s personality outshined everyone else around them. The two were fun, personable, and easy going—the perfect clients for a destination wedding.
The ceremony was very touching and light-hearted. Mariana read a letter she had written the day she knew she was going to marry Jesus many years prior to their engagement. There was hardly a dry eye. Still, Jesus kept everyone laughing with his side comments to the officiant during the ceremony. This wedding was truly one of a kind!
After the ceremony, the two cut loose with family and friends as the party started. The space was decorated with DJ lights, ocean views, and Jesus’ favorite iguana statue. He had jokingly asked the wedding coordinator to make it a part of the wedding cake and she rose to the challenge! The couple’s closest friends made speeches and even the youngest wedding guests stayed up late for the party.
The day of the wedding there was no time to get portraits after the ceremony due to delays and the rain. Luckily, Jesus and Mariana had booked a Trash the Dress or “Day after Session”. That left us plenty of time to take photos the next day.
The two chose a more casual look for their session to stay cool and enjoy the morning stroll on the beach together. The weather was much better the morning after the wedding. Thus we got some awesome photos of them on the beach. I had a lot of fun photographing this fun and energetic couple’s Costa Rica destination wedding!
