A Destination Beach Wedding in Costa Rica
I was fortunate to be able to photograph Fern and Blake’s (I know, such cool names) destination wedding in Costa Rica. They decided to host it at the epic Punto de Vista Villa. Fern’s sister Brook had helped plan the wedding from Australia. She was the one who contracted me as the photographer as a wedding present for her sister.
So it wasn’t until the day before the actual wedding that we were all able to finally meet. As we are in the rainy season, it was raining the afternoon that I stopped by the Villa. It was really coming down hard as the three of us went to go check out where in Playitas beach would be a good spot for the ceremony the next day.
Obviously, we were hoping that it kept raining all through the night so that the next morning would be sunny. Luckily, that is exactly how it worked out, and we got blue skies for the whole wedding day.
Villa Punto De Vista
Villa Punto de Vista is a gorgeous place for family and friends to come together for a destination wedding in Costa Rica. It is big and spacious with a lot of natural light and a great view of the Pacific Ocean. The villa is nestled among the tropical jungles lining the coastline of Manuel Antonio. The kid-friendly villa is home base for many yoga retreats, culinary retreats, and destination weddings.
Another added bonus is that you get a Polaris buggy to use as the wedding vehicle. This made for an exciting ride and great Photo Op as Fern and her father were raced down through the jungle to the ceremony on the beach.
It was an intimate ceremony with one of Fern and Blake’s friends playing the guitar, totally adding to the beach vibe. After the ceremony, we were able to have a little portrait session on the beach. Then we headed up to the Villa for just a few more photos of all the friends and family who were able to make it for this special day.
